Clark Hill PLC’s Labor & Employment Practice Group Grows with Addition of Nancy L. Farnam

Birmingham, MI – Nancy L. Farnam has joined Clark Hill’s Birmingham office as Senior Counsel in the Labor & Employment Practice Group. 

“We are pleased to have Nancy join us,” said Tom Brady, co-leader of Clark Hill’s Labor & Employment Practice Group. “She adds depth to our employee benefits team as well as brings extensive knowledge of the Affordable Care Act.” 

Farnam has over 20 years’ experience representing private and public sector employers in the design, drafting and taxation of welfare benefit plans, qualified retirement plans and non-qualified deferred compensation plans. She has extensive experience counseling employers on various welfare plans, including self-insured and insured health plans, cafeteria plans, health reimbursement arrangements and health savings accounts, and assisting with compliance under the Affordable Care Act, HIPAA, COBRA and other laws. She also represents third party administrators of medical and cafeteria plans on numerous issues affecting their clients. 

Nancy regularly presents to clients, employers and professional groups on various topics, including HIPAA compliance and fiduciary responsibilities, translating the technical employee benefit laws into practical, easy to understand terms. Nancy is a contributor to the employee benefits chapter of Employment Law in Michigan, An Employer’s Guide, published by The Institute of Continuing Legal Education, and has authored numerous articles relating to employee benefit plans.
