Clark Hill PLC Attorney Matthew T. Smith to Present at National Business Institute's Legal Issues Involving Local Governments Seminar, May 16

LANSING, MICH. – Clark Hill attorney Matthew Smith will present on zoning concerns at the National Business Institute’s (NBI) Legal Issues Involving Local Government seminar, May 16. The seminar, at Embassy Suites in Southfield, Mich., will address strategies and techniques for dealing with a wide range of government issues. Smith’s presentation in particular will focus on a number of zoning issues, including managing public right-of-way, boundary and variance issues, and sources of conflict between counties and municipalities.

Smith is a member of Clark Hill’s Litigation Practice Group and specializes in commercial and construction related matters. He served as government counsel, defense counsel and as a special assistant United States attorney for the Marine Corps’ Office of the Staff Judge Advocate in San Diego, Calif., before returning to Michigan to practice creditors’ rights law, construction litigation, and real estate and corporation law. Smith has spoken at numerous seminars in addition to the NBI seminar, including the 10th Annual Landlord-Tenant Law Seminar and the annual Air Conditioner Contractor’s Association meeting.
