Clark Hill Litigation Attorneys Secure Acquittal for Client on Serious RICO Charge

Dec 23, 2010
On December 8, 2010, Clark Hill attorneys Martin Crandall and Matt Rechtien obtained a jury verdict of acquittal for a Clark Hill client on charges of Racketeering (18 USC 1962(c)) and Racketeering Conspiracy (18 USC 1962(d)) following a six week trial and five days of jury deliberations before Judge Nancy Edmunds of the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan. The case arose out of complex, multi-count Superseding Indictment handed down in 2006 against over ninety members and associates of the Highwaymen Motorcycle Club. Ten members and former members of the motorcycle club, including Clark Hill’s client, have now gone through trial on this indictment and all (with the exception of Clark Hill’s client) were convicted of the Racketeering Conspiracy charge. A verdict against the client on a less serious drug charge is being challenged.
