CHICAGO – Clark Hill Attorneys Scott N. Schreiber & Shannon L. Deeby presented at the 32nd Annual National CLE Bankruptcy Conference sponsored by the Colorado Bar Association in Vail, Colorado.
Deeby and Schreiber spoke on “Intellectual Property & Bankruptcy – It Is Hard to Reconcile Many Thorny Issues at the Crossroads.” This session covered how license agreements, patents, trademarks and similar intellectual property are affected when the licensor or licensee files for bankruptcy. The panel also discussed how to protect trademark rights in a bankruptcy proceeding.
Schreiber also spoke on a panel about recent developments on the issue of non-consensual third party releases in plans of reorganizations.
Schreiber is a member of the Corporate Restructuring and Bankruptcy practice group and is a bankrupty leader in the firm’s Chicago office. Schreiber has served as lead counsel to business debtors, creditors, creditors’ committees and equity holders in a wide range of bankruptcy matters, including domestic and international bankruptcy and insolvency proceedings, and out-of-court workouts.
Deeby is a senior attorney in the firm’s Corporate Restructuring and Bankruptcy Practice Group concentrating her practice in the areas of corporate restructurings, creditors’ rights, and commercial and bankruptcy-related litigation.
