Clark Hill Attorneys Coordinate and Present at the International Council of Shopping Centers Annual Michigan Operations Breakfast March 5th

Birmingham, MI. – Clark Hill attorney Paul S. Magy, a past State Michigan Director of International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC) and current Program Planning Committee member, is coordinating the Annual Michigan Operations Breakfast on March 5, 2014 entitled “Green is Gold: LEEDing the Way” held in conjunction with the Institute of Real Estate Management's Annual Trade Show. Clark Hill Attorney David M. Blau will lead a discussion program titled, “Ask the Lawyer Off the Clock - Bring Your Legal Questions Relating to Shopping Center Management.” The event will be held at the Suburban Collection Showplace in Novi, Michigan.

Founded in 1957, ICSC is the premier global trade association of the shopping center industry. Its nearly 60,000 members in over 90 countries include shopping center owners, developers, managers, marketing specialists, investors, retailers and brokers, as well as academics and public officials. As the global industry trade association, ICSC links with more than 25 national and regional shopping center councils throughout the world.

Magy is a member of the firm’s Real Estate Practice Group. He possesses extensive commercial real estate experience, which includes acquisition, development, finance, zoning, leasing and sale of commercial real estate, in addition to litigation experience in receiverships, distressed assets and retailer bankruptcy. Magy is an active member of a number of community organizations, including President of the Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA) of Metropolitan Detroit and member of the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC). He was awarded ICSC’s highest honor, the Trustees Distinguished Service Award, and is currently chair of Michigan’s ICSC Continuing Education Program for Real Estate Professionals. Magy received Martindale-Hubbell’s highest possible rating in 2012, AV Preeminent®.

Blau is a senior attorney in the firm’s Birmingham office where he practices in the Real Estate Services Practice Group. He possesses vast experience in real estate transactions, retail and office leasing, real estate litigation, landlord-tenant, bankruptcy/creditor’s rights for retail landlords, and general business matters. He has significant litigation experience in state, federal, and bankruptcy courts.
