Clark Hill Attorneys Barbara A. Ruga and Roderick S. Coy to Present at the Genesee County Superintendent’s Association Annual Retreat – August 13

GRAND RAPIDS, MICH. – Attorneys Barbara A. Ruga and Roderick S. Coy will present at the annual retreat for the Genesee County Superintendent’s Association. Ruga’s presentation will cover “Administrative/Teacher Evaluations.” Coy will be co-presenting “Technology: GenNET 2020 Discussion Draft Consortium Agreement Visioning Updates” with Luke Wittum. The all-day retreat will be held on Tuesday, August 13 at the Ligon Outdoor Center in Clio, MI.

Ruga has over 35 years of experience advising and counseling public school districts and other public and private employers on a wide variety of labor law and employment issues, as well as extensive knowledge and experience negotiating teacher contracts in the context of scarce resources. She has presented for other notable statewide organizations, including the Michigan Negotiators Association, Metro Bureau, the Michigan Association of School Boards and the Michigan School Business Officials, as well as national educational entities.

Coy is a member of Clark Hill’s Government & Public Affairs Practice Group in the firm’s Lansing office. He has more than 40 years of experience specializing in energy, telecommunications and utility law in Michigan, and is the general counsel to Michigan Collegiate Telecommunications Association (MiCTA). Coy’s work in telecommunications consists of counseling or representing private telecommunications networks; large institutional telecommunications users, such as universities and hospitals; and video and broadband service providers.
