Feb 27, 2009

DETROIT, MI - Clark Hill attorney Thomas Hathaway has been accepted into the 2009 class of Leadership Michigan, a program of the Michigan Chamber Foundation.  Hathaway is one of only 29 professionals from across the state that received admittance into this year’s program, which will be held throughout Michigan from April through October.

Leadership Michigan , instituted in 1988, is a leadership development program designed for current and emerging leaders to encounter first-hand the critical issues facing Michigan.  “We look for the motivated person with a desire to take a more active leadership role in their organization, community, and state,” said Aimee Bahs, Director of the Leadership Michigan Program. “Then we provide the information, experiences, and contacts so they can take that next step.  We are very pleased to welcome Tom into the class of 2009.”

Hathaway received a JD from Vanderbilt University School of Law and AB English from College of the Holy Cross.  “I am an attorney and counselor specializing in labor and employment matters and business counseling and litigation.”   Hathaway has been active with Life Directions, St. Joan of Arc and State Bar Character & Fitness committee, District H.

“Through Leadership Michigan, I look forward to learning more about the issues that confront us as a state and the potential solutions. Michigan is, and should remain, one of the very best locations to live, work and invest in. I have been researching our state's demographics in an effort to understand and then educate others on the opportunities available to businesses who invest and locate in Michigan. I look forward to the exposure to the learning opportunities and the experience of networking with people and institutions who share my vision of a successful, diverse and prosperous Michigan where our children can live, be educated and employed.” said Hathaway.
