Clark Hill Attorney Charlie Spies Presented at the University of Chicago’s Institute of Politics Program “The Role of Super PACs in 2012 & Beyond”
The University of Chicago’s Institute of Politics is a nonpartisan group that helps University of Chicago students who wish to explore careers in public and social service, providing non-curricular opportunities for them the pursue interests in politics and policy making. The Institute officially opened in early 2013 and three programs form its core initiative: a visiting fellows program, and expanded set of policy and public interest internships, and a continuous series of public speakers discussing current events and political life.
Spies is the leader of Clark Hill's national Political Law practice, as well as the Member in Charge of the Washington D.C. office. Spies provides strategic counsel to a broad range of organizations, corporations, candidates and individuals confronting challenges and opportunities at the intersection of political and issue campaigns, government ethics, law and public policy. He has established and served as counsel to multiple political organizations and super PACs, including Restore Our Future, the largest super PAC in history which spent $150 million supporting Mitt Romney in 2012.
