Birmingham, MI – Clark Hill Attorney Anne-Marie Vercruysse Welch will present “An Ounce of Prevention: Staying Up-to-Date with the Legal Landscape” at the ASE People, Profit, Progress Conference March 13, 2014. Session details include: Staying current on the constantly changing legal landscape that affects HR is always a challenge. The more the current administration in Washington proposes and approves changes to current laws, the more the employer/employee relationship is altered. This session will update HR professionals on major changes, pending changes and what may be upcoming in the area of employment law and compliance.

Welch is a senior attorney in Clark Hill’s Labor & Employment practice group. She routinely advises management on employment related issues and is experienced in defending against wrongful discharge, discrimination and related statutory and tort claims, unfair labor practice charges, as well as in pursuing and defending claims pertaining to non-competition agreements and unemployment insurance. Welch has defended employers before both state and federal agencies, including the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the Michigan Department of Civil Rights, the National Labor Relations Board, the Michigan Employment Relations Commission, and the Michigan Compensation Appellate Commission. She also regularly represents administrators before the Michigan Public School Employees Retirement System Board of Review.
