Clark Hill Advises on Sale of Budget Energy

May 20, 2020

A pair of Clark Hill Corporate Law partners based in Dublin, Ireland recently advised on the successful sale of an energy company.

Partners Edward Johnston and James-Paul Galligan were the lead corporate legal advisers to Budget Energy as the company was acquired by Flogas, a DCC PLC subsidiary.

“We are very pleased with the outcome of this acquisition,” Johnston said. “We were involved from the start of negotiations and believe this is a result that will benefit both sides tremendously.”

Clark Hill has advised Budget Energy since 2011 and has provided its board and shareholders with corporate and regulatory advice. Budget Energy is licensed to supply energy in Ireland and Northern Ireland and is active in residential and commercial markets with more than 100,000 customers.

DCC is an Irish headquartered company listed on the London Stock exchange and reported annual profits of £494 million (about $542 million) from revenue of £14.8 billion (about $18.2 billion) across several sectors including energy supply for the year ended March 30, 2020.
