Chicago Employment Attorney L. Steven Platt Joins Clark Hill PLC

CHICAGO, IL – Management Labor and Employment Attorney L. Steven Platt has joined the Chicago office of Clark Hill PLC, the firm leadership announced today. Steven was most recently in private practice with Pedersen & Houpt in Chicago.

Steven focuses his practice in the areas of labor and employment, litigation and dispute resolution as well as corporate and business counseling. He has represented litigants in employment discrimination matters, handled multi-employer Taft-Harley fringe benefit fund work, ERISA and other general litigation.

Steven is an accomplished author and presenter, having co-authored the legal reference book “Age Discrimination Litigation,” published by James Publishing (now in its 10th publication), among other publications. He is also a frequent presenter at the Chicago-Kent College of Law, the John Marshall Law School and the International Employee Benefit Foundation.

He is AV Peer rated in the Martindale-Hubbell Peer Review rankings and has been recognized as a Leading Lawyer in the Illinois publication of the same name.

In addition to his AV rating, Steven has been repeatedly named a Super Lawyer by Law & Politics Magazine (2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011). He was also listed as one of the Top 100 Lawyers in Illinois by Crain’s Chicago Business (January, 2008). He was named the Cambridge Who’s Who Professional of the Year in 2009, and also named an Elite American Lawyer in 2011 by the Elite American Lawyers Association. In 2010, Steven was again recognized by Cambridge Who’s Who for demonstrating “dedication, leadership and excellence in legal services.”

In 2003, Steven was ranked in the top seven employment lawyers in Chicago by Chambers and Partners legal rating service. Since 1998, Steven has been a fellow in the American College of Labor and Employment Lawyers.

Steven earned his B.A. from Northwestern University and his J.D. from Loyola University Chicago School of Law.
