Attorney Michael J. Ferrell Joins Clark Hill’s Washington D.C. Office

Washington, D.C. – Michael J. Ferrell has joined Clark Hill as a Member in the Government and Public Affairs Practice Group.

Ferrell began his political career on the staff of the late Senator, Philip A. Hart of Michigan. He left Hart’s office to take a position with another member of Michigan’s Congressional delegation, Representative William D. Ford, whose Congressional District encompassed the City of Taylor, Michigan and the areas and municipalities surrounding Detroit’s Metro Airport.

Ferrell spent over thirteen years as a Congressional staffer, including as Chief of Staff to a House Member as well as a Subcommittee Staff Director.

Ferrell has served as the chief lobbyist for a national real estate finance association where he was recognized as one of Washington’s top financial services lobbyists.

“Mike is one of the most respected lobbyists in Washington and we are thrilled to have him join our growing Government Affairs practice,” said Charlie Spies, Member in Charge of Clark Hill’s Washington D.C. office. “His financial services expertise as well as deep relations with Democratic lawmakers will clearly strengthen our team.”

Ferrell said he considered his move to Michigan-based Clark Hill, one of the fastest growing law and lobbying firms in America, to be “a homecoming of sorts; my fascination with politics and government service began as a young boy growing up in Detroit and blossomed into a lifelong avocation and career. However, I never imagined I would have an opportunity to practice with the D.C. office of a Michigan firm. Consequently, when Clark Hill approached me, I was both grateful and excited about the prospect of ‘going home’ and working with such a talented and well respected group of professionals.”
