Julie A. George

Senior Attorney

Julie George advises companies in a variety of industries on employing highly-skilled foreign workers in the United States. Specifically, she helps employers hire and retain foreign talent by securing visas for professionals, intracompany transferees, individuals with extraordinary ability, and treaty traders and investors from all over the world.

Julie also guides clients through the immigrant visa process, including the PERM-based green card process, multinational manager and executive immigrant petitions, extraordinary ability immigrant petitions, family-based immigrant petitions, adjustment of status, and consular processing.

Julie also guides organizations on the immigration consequences of mergers, acquisitions, and other forms of corporate restructuring. She analyzes the structure of corporate changes and formulates approaches to maximize the retention of foreign workers. In partnership with clients, she endeavors to limit the disruption of structural change and conducts due diligence to minimize immigration liability after the change is complete.

Julie partners with employers to develop internal policies to govern a variety of employment-based immigration processes and to ensure compliance with the requirements of the Department of Homeland Security and the Department of Labor. The topics she advises on range from standardizing sponsorship practices across an organization to preparing for and responding to government enforcement actions. She counsels clients on completing and storing Forms I-9, conducting elective I-9 self-audits, and responding to Notices of Inspection from Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

Julie is admitted to practice in Virginia, and is not admitted to practice in Pennsylvania.
