John P. Schneider
John P. Schneider focuses his practice on business planning and employee benefit plans for many of the area’s privately held companies and public-sector employers. In addition, he specializes in the creation, tax qualification, and ongoing operation of not-for-profit entities and has been involved extensively with many of the region’s charitable organizations. He often advises such entities concerning the various retirement plans specific to them.
John received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Harvard University and his law degree from the University of Virginia School of Law. Admitted to the bar in 1974, he is a member of the Business Law and International Law Sections of the State Bar of Michigan.
John is actively involved in the community. He is the Chairperson of the Board of Directors of Blandford Nature Center. He is a Member of the Board of Directors and Executive Committee of the Grand Rapids Symphony Society. He is a Member of the Board of Directors of Kentwood Foundation and the Michigan Nonprofit Association. Additionally, John has served as a Board Member and Board Chairperson, as well as Secretary and President of many other Grand Rapids-area charitable organizations.
