John O’Connor serves as Director of Advanced Services for Clark Hill, PLC. In this role, John deploys advanced client service solutions that often include innovative process, service and business models to give our clients a competitive edge. He also has executive responsibilities for our Construction Practice, our in house E-Discovery Practice – IG360, our health care/ legal industry Six Sigma based consulting service, our Healthcare Practice, our Crisis Communications Service, Clark Hill’s alternate staffing program, and coordinates our White Collar Crime Division.
Prior to joining Clark Hill, John served as both Chief Operating Officer and Chief Executive Officer for Lumen Legal LLC. At Lumen Legal, John provided legal industry cost savings and organizational consulting for corporations and law firms. Under his leadership, Lumen expanded its footprint nationally into Texas, Illinois, California, Florida, built a 75 person document review center adjacent to the firm’s national headquarters, developed an international partnership designed to compete with Axiom, and achieved its highest level of profitability in the company’s 20 year history.
John brings more than 25 years of multi-industry operational expertise to Clark Hill, concentrated in workforce solutions, organizational strategy, and legal services innovation/efficiency. He’s held senior leadership positions with Olsten Services (Adecco), CoreStaff Services, Kelly Services, and Marsh & McLennan Companies. He also provided large-scale organizational consulting for corporations like Nike, Sony Pictures Entertainment, and Technicolor, all resulting in reoccurring seven digit-plus cost savings annually.
John was trained to develop and implement alternate organizational and innovative process solutions during his time at FedEx. There, he was often used to turn around struggling locations and solve large scale service disruption issues from Hawaii to Washington DC, often commuting on the FedEx planes.
John holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Behavioral Science, with additional training in cognitive science, organizational behavioral science, and organizational re-engineering.
His in depth knowledge of how people think, and how organizations act, combined with his alternate process solution experience, provide an effective avenue of legal industry innovation that is designed to benefit the Clark Hill client through advanced services.
