John Hunt assists clients in matters involving administrative law, transportation and railroads, commercial litigation, real estate and family law.

He has a very distinguished client list which includes the Nevada State Board of Dental Examiners, the American Association of Dental Examiners, Union Pacific Railroad, the University Medical Center of Southern Nevada, Jake’s Crane & Rigging and Focus 2000.

For over 28 years, his legal career has included almost every aspect of law. Ranging from Traffic Court to the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals. He has argued before the Nevada Supreme Court and is admitted to the United State Supreme Court. Today, he serves as an Alternate Judge in both the Justice Court and Municipal Court. He is adept in administrative matters and has argued such matters before the Nevada Supreme Court.

John has represented physicians, nurses, architects, chiropractors, anesthesiologist, surgeons, realtors, audiologist and physical therapists before administrative boards and commissions nationwide. His administrative law experience includes serving for 22 years as general counsel/prosecutor for the Nevada State Board of Dental Examiners. During this period, he represented the NSBDE in Federal and State litigation as well as prosecuted thousands of administrative cases on behalf of the Board. His representation of the Nevada State Board of Dental Examiners included appearances before the Nevada State District Court, Nevada Supreme Court and the Federal Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals.

It is hard to find an administrative tribunal which John has not appeared before in representing licensed professionals. John’s capabilities include: medical privileges, provider contracts, professional membership privileges and Medicaid and Medicare privileges.

John has also acted as general counsel for the American Association of Dental Examiners and advises a large number of State Boards regarding implementation of fair and efficient methods to process disciplinary complaints.

He has also been involved in a number of high profile cases, including Wayne Newton v. NBC and has provided counsel on a variety of large real estate transactions such as the sale of the Marina Hotel to MGM and the client acquisition of prime Las Vegas strip property which was awarded in a successful appeal to the Nevada Supreme Court.

A Sergeant in the United States Air Force, John was honorably discharged in 1976. He is an avid golfer and an experienced hot air balloon competitor. In 1989 and 2002, John participated in teams that won the China National Balloon Race and the Great Reno Balloon Race. In January 2012, John was a finalist as a candidate for the Clark County District Attorney.
