Jillian B. Sommers

Associate

Jillian B. Sommers is an associate with the Litigation Practice Group in Clark Hill’s Chicago office.  Jillian focuses on complex commercial litigation, counseling all-sized companies in legal issues related to their business and industry and in preventing and resolving disputes, as well as on trust and estate litigation, helping families resolve difficult challenges to the transition of wealth. 

Jillian has handled and managed a wide variety of litigation matters, including contract disputes, common law fraud claims, trust construction and termination actions, real estate disputes, trademark and trade dress challenges, products liability defense, breach of fiduciary duty claims, shareholder derivative actions, non-competition claims, and class action defense. She has been successful at many stages in litigation, including dismissing claims early, obtaining preliminary injunctive relief, and earning favorable judgments for clients.

Jillian graduated magna cum laude from Loyola University Chicago School of Law in 2014. During law school, Jillian received the Sidney DeLove Scholarship Award and was on the Dean’s List for her academic achievements. Jillian served as Student Articles Editor of the Loyola University Chicago Law Journal and as a member of Loyola’s National Trademark Moot Court Competition Team. Jillian also worked as a Legal Writing Student Instructor for students at Loyola and as a judicial extern to the Honorable Ronald A. Guzman of the U. S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois.

Jillian completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Michigan in 2011, earning a Bachelor of Arts with honors in Political Science, Psychology, and Michigan football.
