Ely W. Sluder

Of Counsel

Ely W. Sluder is Of Counsel in Clark Hill’s Personal Legal Services Group. He currently focuses his practice on business, tax, and estate planning, plus handles contract, real estate, and intellectual property law matters.  He typically deals with client issues such as mergers and acquisitions, asset sales and purchases, business entity formations, commercial leases, and general contract drafting and review, with an overall focus on the client’s overall tax and estate planning goals.

Ely received his law degree from the Arizona State University College of Law in 2003 (which, in 2006, changed its name to the Sandra Day O’Conner College of Law)  where he focused his studies on business, internet law, real estate, and intellectual property.  He completed the mediation clinic while in law school and has helped mediate many disputes during his career. Prior to attending law school, he received his Bachelor of Science degree in Human Communication with an emphasis on rhetoric and conflict resolution from Arizona State University in 2000.  Ely is also a veteran, having served as a Combat Medic in the US Army from 1992-1995.  After receiving his law degree, he spent time as General Counsel for an internet company and as co-owner of, and General Manager/General Counsel for, a licensed real estate brokerage firm prior to joining Rayndon & Associates, PLC in 2006.

Billing himself as a “virtual in-house counsel,” Ely has since 2010 continued to support his Arizona clients remotely from New Jersey, where he and his family relocated so as to allow his children to grow up near their cousins and extended family. Now licensed to practice in New Jersey and Arizona, he spends most days working out of the Princeton office, continuing to build his business, tax, and estate planning practice.
