Daniel J. Dulworth
Daniel J. Dulworth specializes in legal counseling, negotiation, and litigation, including handling significant commercial, general business, health-care and employment disputes in state and federal trial and appellate courts, commercial arbitration forums, and administrative agencies. Prior to becoming a member of Clark Hill, he was a litigation shareholder at Butzel Long.
While Dan has twenty-eight years of experience representing clients in diverse corporate industries, including automotive, defense, manufacturing, healthcare, banking, telecommunications, construction, and insurance, he has primarily focused on representing companies and individuals in the automotive, manufacturing and healthcare industries.
Dan is co-chair of Clark Hill’s Automotive and Manufacturing Practice Group. He represents automotive and defense industry original equipment manufacturers and suppliers of all sizes in situations ranging from distressed supplier to major product recall and warranty. He has successfully litigated complex commercial disputes at all levels of federal and state courts and works with companies in identifying, predicting, and protecting their businesses from unnecessary risk and exposure.
Dan also advises and litigates on behalf of hospitals, physician groups and other healthcare entities, including medical malpractice defense and commercial disputes. His experience includes the successful defense of hospitals, physicians and nurses in jury trials, arbitrations and appellate courts.
Dan has written and presented on a variety of legal topics with respect to automotive supply contracts and relationships, as well as hospital and medical practice risk management issues.
Dan is an active member of the Michigan Defense Trial Counsel, State Bar of Michigan, and Detroit Metropolitan Bar Association. He has served as a Director of the Detroit Metropolitan Bar Association, a Trustee of the Foundation of the Detroit Metropolitan Bar Association and President of the Barristers of the Detroit Metropolitan Bar Association.
Dan has achieved the highest “AV” rating by his peers through Martindale-Hubbell Law Firm Directory. He has also been named a Michigan Super Lawyer in commercial litigation, a Michigan Leading Lawyer in commercial litigation and a dBusinessTop Lawyer in Metro Detroit.
Dan is a member of the Board of Directors of Boys Hope Girls Hope of Detroit and also serves on the St. Paul School Athletic Department Board in Grosse Pointe Farms, Michigan.
Dan is a graduate of Michigan State University and the University of Detroit School of Law.
