Cathy Duplissa-Lopez is a Senior Litigation Paralegal specializing in ediscovery and digital evidence, information governance, data protection and privacy. Cathy’s focus over the past decades has primarily been dedicated to legal project management within the practices of areas of commercial litigation, intellectual property law, environment law, construction law and trial strategies and presentation. As a Senior Litigation Paralegal Cathy’s focus is on providing full case assistance, consulting and training on ediscovery project management related to best practices in the area of electronically stored evidence, effective early case assessment/data volumes assessment, identification of digital evidence, preservation/legal hold processes, accessing reasonableness and proportionality and negotiation strategies, developing and maintaining defensible records retention policies, records and information management, data collections, data reviews and management of reviews and review teams – deploying use of technology assisted reviews/computer assisted reviews or other methodology, protocols and applied methods for testing the processes and results as to production of documentary evidence, and evidence management in support of trial strategies and presentation. Cathy has extensive trial experience and has served as a lead paralegal in over 75 trials within multiple state courts, federal courts, private dispute resolution, arbitration proceedings before the American Arbitration Association and JAMS. Cathy also consults with various practice groups and trial teams in courtroom technology presentation and strategies, challenges with admissibility of electronic evidence in trial and training in trial presentation in both electronic and non-electronic courtrooms.

Cathy has served as a member and presenter in various organizations and has contributed on topics related to digital evidence and management, including

Cathy has extensive knowledge and often trains on a multitude of document review and management platforms, database modeling, legal timeline software, presentation software and trial presentation software. Cathy has participated in many reviews of software performance and often participates in pilot testing of software.

Cathy is a dedicated and lifelong student in the teachings, methods, and principles of Joseph Pilates. One of Cathy’s proudest moments was participating and completing the YMCA Whiskey Row Marathon in Prescott, AZ, one of the toughest marathons in the country. Throughout the year you can find Cathy cycling in and around Phoenix.
