Candace C. Clark is an associate in the firm's Corporate Restructuring and Bankruptcy practice in the Chicago office.  Candace's practice includes the representation of corporate debtors-in-possession, secured lenders, unsecured creditors, creditors committees, and liquidating trustees, among other parties-in-interest, throughout the multi-faceted restructuring and bankruptcy process.  Candace also has extensive experience in appellate practice for bankruptcy matters.  Candace is a top rated bankruptcy attorney in Chicago selected by Super Lawyers as a “Rising Star” (2017).   Prior to relocating to Illinois, Candace was recognized by Super Lawyers as a Mountain States “Rising Star” (2015) and by Nevada Business as a Nevada Top 50 Up & Coming Attorneys (2012).

Candace's representative experience includes the representation of:

  • A rapid transit operator in successfully restructuring $650 million of state-sponsored conduit bond financing.
  • A casino/hotel operator in its successful pre-packaged bankruptcy resulting in the reduction of the long-term debt from $225 Million to $67 Million.
  • Various single asset real estate debtors operating hotels, extended-stay facilities, apartment complexes, self-storage facilities, medical complexes, and commercial centers to obtain significant principal reductions of secured debt, substantially reduced interest rates, and/or extended repayment terms.
  • Debtors, creditors, trustees, and bidders in Section 363 sales, as well as sales accomplished through confirmed plans of reorganization.
  • Liquidating trustees in the recovery and disposal of estate assets, and the prosecution of avoidance actions.

While in law school, Candace served as a judicial extern to the Honorable James C. Mahan of the United States District Court for the District of Nevada, and was an extern to the Office of the City Attorney for the City of Las Vegas for both the civil and criminal divisions. Candace was a member of the editorial staff of the Nevada Law Journal.

Before becoming an attorney, Candace enjoyed a career in marketing and sales at TRIRIGA, Inc. (as acquired by IBM Corp.), a leading provider of enterprise asset management software.

Candace is a member of the American Bankruptcy Institute, the International Women's Insolvency and Restructuring Confederation, the American Bar Association, the Cook County Bar Association and the Clark County Bar Association.
