Benjamin K. Herrington (Ben) has more than a decade of experience in commercial real estate and has represented lenders and borrowers in connection with the financing of office, hospitality, multifamily and industrial properties. These financings have included first mortgage and mezzanine loans in jurisdictions across the United States, and have involved landmark properties (the Seattle Space Needle), resort properties, golf courses and hotels (franchised and non-franchised).
Ben has represented landlords and tenants in commercial and retail leasing matters. He has worked with asset and property managers to oversee the day to day operation, vendor management and leasing of 2MM+ RSF suburban office complexes as well as 1MM+ RSF downtown Chicago office buildings.
Ben has worked extensively on the securitization, syndication, participation, and repurchase of commercial mortgage loans; mortgage loans with multiple levels of mezzanine financing; and mortgage loans A/B note structures. Additionally, he has experience with loan sales, modifications, workouts and restructurings, deeds-in-lieu, and foreclosures.
