Robert D. GordonMember Areas of Practice Bar Admissions Education Memberships Robert D. Gordon leads Clark Hill's Bankruptcy and Corporate Restructuring Group, a section of the firm's Business Practice Group. Mr. Gordon focuses his practice in the areas of bankruptcy and corporate reorganization, debtor and creditor rights, workouts, and related commercial litigation. Mr. Gordon has broad experience representing various parties in interest in bankruptcy and other judicial proceedings and in out-of-court workouts. He represents distressed companies, vendors and trade creditors, creditors’ committees, lenders and other secured parties, bondholders, purchasers of assets, insurance carriers, landlords, tenants, equipment lessors, and trustees and liquidating agents in complex matters both in Michigan and throughout the United States. Mr. Gordon also regularly represents parties in fraudulent transfer actions, preference actions, and other commercial and bankruptcy-related litigation. He has argued cases before numerous courts, including prevailing before the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals in the recent case In re Made in Detroit, Inc., 414 F.3d 576 (6th Cir. 2005). Mr. Gordon’s clients span a variety of industries and business types, including automotive, manufacturing, retail, telecommunications, aviation, and real estate. Mr. Gordon is certified in Business Bankruptcy Law by the American Board of Certification. He has lectured on numerous bankruptcy and creditors' rights topics for Michigan's Institute of Continuing Legal Education, the American Bankruptcy Institute, and other organizations. From 1998 to 2000, he was a Contributing Author for Wiley Bankruptcy Law Update. Mr. Gordon was selected by Michigan Super Lawyers 2007 as a leading attorney in Michigan in his area of expertise. Recently, Mr. Gordon was featured along with other leading restructuring professionals in a roundtable article regarding the automotive industry, published by Financier Worldwide.
