Mahesh K. NayakMember Areas of Practice Bar Admissions Education Memberships Mahesh K. Nayak concentrates his practice in litigation as well as corporate and business transactions. Mr. Nayak regularly counsels businesses including banks, physicians’ practices, automotive suppliers and high-tech industry clients in wide ranging day-to-day operational issues spanning from employment matters, contract drafting and negotiation, corporate formation, maintenance of trade secrets and intellectual property, and liability deterrence. Mr. Nayak also assists business owners in identifying successful tax and estate plans. Mr. Nayak was an Assistant Attorney General with the Michigan Attorney General's Office from 1997 to 1999. Prior to this position, he served as a criminal prosecutor with the Wayne County (Detroit, Michigan) Prosecutor's Office. In law school, Mr. Nayak was on the Moot Court National Trial Team and received the Best Oral Advocate Award in 1993. Mr. Nayak was also an editorial staff member and staff writer for the Michigan Business Law Journal. He has since authored articles focused on litigation for national continuing legal education publications. Mr. Nayak has been a life long resident of Michigan, has traveled the world extensively and studied International Business Law in London, England. Mr. Nayak is regularly called upon to guide foreign companies establishing themselves in the United States. Mr. Nayak has successfully counseled and represented large corporations, government bodies, small businesses and individuals alike in matters ranging from corporate disputes, patent infringement, environmental class actions, real estate disputes, employment and non-compete disputes, and commercial litigation under the Uniform Commercial Code. In cutting edge litigation, Mr. Nayak has represented one of the world’s most recognizable and famous rock bands in entertainment law matters pertaining to trademark infringement and copyright bootlegging. Mr. Nayak has also gained expertise in the area of e-commerce dealing with cybersquatters in internet domain name litigation. Mr. Nayak's practice has afforded him exposure to domestic and international business transactions, and other corporate practice. |
