Jay S. Paranjpe is a Senior Attorney in Clark Hill’s Intellectual Property practice group.  He focuses on the preparation and prosecution of patent applications in the mechanical arts.  More specifically, he has written patent applications directed to a variety of technologies including vehicle exteriors, interiors, locking systems, and seating systems, industrial products, consumer products, and sporting goods.  He has also drafted validity and infringement opinions in connection with United States patents, and numerous patentability opinions evaluating invention disclosures in view of prior art. 

Mr. Paranjpe advises clients on all aspects of trademark law.  He performs trademark clearance searches, prepares and prosecutes trademark applications, and maintains U.S. and foreign trademark registrations.  In addition, he counsels clients in opposition and cancellation proceedings before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board. 

Mr. Paranjpe drafts and negotiates various intellectual property contracts including license agreements, website development and hosting agreements, and confidentiality agreements.  He also conducts due diligence of intellectual property assets in connection with business acquisitions.
