Douglas J. Rasmussen practices in Clark Hill's Personal Legal Services Group where he is of counsel.  Mr. Rasmussen is experienced in all aspects of estate planning, including analyzing financial and distribution strategies, structuring plans considering the tax ramifications and the client's overall family objectives, and all appropriate estate planning documents. Mr. Rasmussen is experienced in the preparation of estate and gift tax returns as well as in planning with regard to personal, estate, and trust income tax matters, and is an authority on the creation and administration of charitable foundations.

Mr. Rasmussen's practice provides a full range of services concerning estate administration, including will contests, major trust and estate litigation, the specialized services requisite to the collection of estate assets, post-mortem estate planning and estate distribution. His corporate practice is primarily involved with business and tax planning for closely-held corporations.

His activities in numerous community and business organizations include serving as Trustee of the Community Foundation for Southeast Michigan; Board Member of the Detroit Symphony Orchestra, Detroit Economic Club and the Friends of the Detroit Public Library; Past Chairman of the Board of the Southeastern Michigan Chapter of the American Red Cross; Past Chairman of the Board of the YMCA of Metropolitan Detroit; Trustee of the Holley Foundation; Past President of the Detroit Executives Association; and Past President of the Detroit Athletic Club. A frequent lecturer on estate planning, tax and probate topics, Mr. Rasmussen has authored several articles and publications in these areas.
