David J. FordAssociate Area of Practice Education David J. Ford is an associate in the Intellectual Property practice group in Clark Hill’s Detroit office. Mr. Ford concentrates his practice in the preparation and prosecution of patents involving a wide variety of technologies including automotive components, industrial products, and consumer goods. He regularly advises clients regarding patentability, patent validity, and infringement issues. Mr. Ford counsels clients on all aspects of copyright and trademark law. He performs trademark clearance searches, prepares and prosecutes trademark applications, and maintains domestic and foreign trademark registrations. He has obtained copyright protection for numerous literary and musical works. He also drafts various intellectual property agreements, including license agreements, website policies, and trademark co-existence agreements. Mr. Ford is an Engineer and earned his Bachelor of Applied Science in mechanical engineering from the University of Waterloo co-op program in 2000. He previously worked as an engineer at Ford Motor Company and then Nemak of Canada at a state of the art aluminum casting facility. Mr. Ford received his J.D., summa cum laude, from Michigan State College of Law in 2005. While attending law school, Mr. Ford served as a member of the Law Review and earned several academic distinctions and scholarships. Mr. Ford resides in Windsor, Ontario. |
