Fred W. Batten, William B. Dunn,Timothy M. Koltun, and Daniel H. Minkus Named to Chambers USA List of Leading Business AttorneysMarch 23, 2005- Detroit, MI – Four members of Clark Hill PLC have been named to the 2005 Chambers USA Ranking of America’s Leading Business Lawyers. Fred W. Batten, William B. Dunn, Timothy M. Koltun and Daniel H. Minkus were each named in the most recent edition of Chambers, which conducts an extensive peer-review process for inclusion in the book. Research for the guide is conducted by Chambers and Partners, the London-based publisher of Chambers Global and Chambers UK Leading Lawyers. Fred W. Batten is a member of the firm’s Detroit office, where he concentrates his practice in employment litigation and traditional labor law, including occupational safety and health. Batten represents management only in labor negotiations with organized workers and currently serves as lead trial counsel in numerous employment cases, defending a broad range of employers from Fortune 500 companies to not-for-profit institutions. He has been a contributing editor to the American Bar Association's Section of Labor and Employment Law publication, The Developing Labor Law, author of the Michigan Manufacturers Association Employer's Guide to the Michigan Occupational Safety and Health Act, and has frequently spoken and published on various labor issues. In addition to the Chambers USA list, Batten is named in the Best Lawyers In America publication. Batten received his B.A. from Middlebury College, and his J.D. from Washington & Lee University. He resides in Grosse Pointe Farms, Michigan. William B. Dunn is a member of the firm’s Detroit office where he heads the Real Estate Practice Group. He specializes in real property and secured transactions and related business practice. He works extensively in lending, workouts, leasing, acquisitions and sales as well as development activities. Dunn is a member of the State Bar of Michigan, the American Bar Association, the American College of Real Estate Lawyers, the American College of Mortgage Attorneys and the International Association of Attorneys and Executives in Corporate Real Estate. He is also a member of the American Bar Association’s Standing Committee on Ethics and Professional Responsibility, and the State Bar of Michigan’s Standing Committee on Professional Ethics. He is a past chair of both the American Bar Association Real Property, Probate and Trust Law Section, and the State Bar of Michigan Real Property Law Section. He is a past president of the American College of Real Estate Lawyers. A frequent lecturer at national, regional and statewide seminars and author on real estate and financing transactions and on ethics, in addition to the Chambers USA list, he is listed in Best Lawyers in America, Who's Who in the Law, Who's Who in America and Who's Who in the World; Euromoney's Guide to the World's Leading Real Estate Lawyers; Law Business Research, An International Who's Who of Real Estate Lawyers. Dunn earned his B.A. from Muskingum College, and his J.D. from the University of Michigan Law School. He resides in Troy, Michigan . Timothy M. Koltun is a member in the firm’s Detroit office, where he focuses his practice on real estate transactional matters. He has extensive experience in the sale, acquisition, development and leasing of residential, retail, office and industrial projects. He has also represented institutional lenders in connection with construction and permanent financing and has substantial expertise in the area of condominiums and homeowners' associations. He has significant experience in the negotiation and documentation of construction related contracts. He has advised both debtors and lenders in negotiating real estate loan workouts. Mr. Koltun is a member of the Condominiums, PUDs and Cooperatives Committee of the Real Property Law Section of the State Bar of Michigan. Koltun earned his B.A. from Ohio Wesleyan University, and his J.D. from University of San Diego School of Law. He resides in Grosse Pointe Woods, Michigan. Daniel H. Minkus is the member in charge of the firm's Birmingham office where he practices in the Business Practice Group. He is also a member of Clark Hill’s executive committee. Minkus concentrates his practice in the areas of business and real estate, advising and counseling clients with respect to a wide range of matters. Minkus is a member of the State Bar of Michigan and the American Bar Association. He currently serves as chairperson of the Unincorporated Enterprises Committee of the Business Law Section of the State Bar. Minkus was also appointed to and currently serves on the Institute For Continuing Legal Education's Business Law Advisory Committee and is a Director of Training for the very successful Business Boot Camp joint initiative between the Institute for Continuing Legal Education and the State Bar's Business Law Section. In addition to the Chambers USA list, Minkus has been recognized by numerous professional organizations and is named in The Best Lawyers in America. Minkus earned his B.A. from Kalamazoo College, and his J.D. from Wayne State University. He resides in Farmington Hills, Michigan.
