Attorneys David M. Hayes and Duane L. Tarnacki Elected to Clark Hill PLC Executive CommitteeNovember 15, 2006- Detroit, MI- Clark Hill attorney David M. Hayes has been reelected and attorney Duane L. Tarnacki has been elected to serve on the executive committee of Clark Hill PLC, firm CEO John Hern announced last month. The new term begins January 1, 2007. David M. Hayes is a member in Clark Hill’s Detroit office, where he practices in the litigation practice group, focusing on a wide variety of sophisticated and complex litigation matters throughout the country. In the corporate and commercial area, he has litigated cases involving securities fraud, industrial property tax assessments, corporate takeovers and tender offers. In the construction law area, Hayes provides a full range of service to owners, construction managers, contractors, architects, engineers, subcontractors and suppliers, including contract drafting and negotiation, contract administration, insurance and bond matters, liens, defect claims, delay and cost overrun claims, and dispute resolution in all forums. He has successfully tried complex construction cases before juries, trial judges, and arbitration panels. Hayes is a member of the American Arbitration Association - Large Complex Case Panel of Arbitrators, the American Bar Association - Forum on the Construction Industry, a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers, a member of the International Association of Defense Counsel and a member of the State Bar of Michigan. He has also been named repeatedly in the Best Lawyers in America publication, and was named in the inaugural edition of Michigan “Super Lawyers.” He earned his B.A. from Western Michigan University and his J.D. from Wayne State University Law School. Duane L. Tarnacki is a member in the firm’s Detroit office, where he practices in the business practice group, representing and advising tax-exempt organizations such as private foundations, community foundations, professional and trade associations, community development organizations, colleges and secondary schools, human service agencies, museums, arts and cultural institutions, public libraries, and social, civic and religious groups. This involves a full range of services, including incorporation and qualification of new nonprofit organizations, advice about regulation by the Internal Revenue Service and state authorities, representation relating to general corporate matters and tax issues, including unrelated business taxable income, the preparation and administration of retirement plans and welfare benefit plans, and all aspects of organization and operations. Tarnacki is a graduate of Leadership Detroit XVI. He is listed in the Best Lawyers in America, Who's Who in America Law and in Who's Who in America. Tarnacki earned his B.A., with high distinction, from the University of Michigan, his M.B.A., with honors, from the University of Notre Dame, and his J.D., cum laude, from the University of Notre Dame School of Law. |
