While Senate
Democrats will continue to focus on health care reform after
returning to Washington next week, the House is already focusing on
its next big issue: jobs.
With unemployment at 10.2% and rising, Democrats are anxious to stop
the bleeding of jobs across the country. House Democrats have
already pledged* to take up some
version of a jobs bill upon returning from Thanksgiving Recess.
Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV) has also committed to moving
to a jobs bill following debate on the Senate's health care reform
legislation.
However, what the bills will include and what their respective time
lines for passage will be remains unclear, especially given the White
House's reluctance** to engage in
more spending that could result in a "double dip
recession."***
