Paul E. Scheidemantel is a member of the firm’s Litigation Practice Group. He has extensive experience in a wide range of business and tort litigation matters including breach of contract, shareholder/partner disputes, real estate, insurance coverage, automobile negligence, workers compensation, and product liability.
Paul has served for several years as the firm’s Pro Bono Coordinator. In that capacity, he manages referrals from multiple sources, including Legal Aid and Defender Association, Community Legal Resources, and the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan, to ensure that Clark Hill helps address the demand in this area of need. Paul is a prior recipient of Legal Aid and Defender Association’s Pro Bono Attorney of the Year Award.
While attending New England Law, Paul received the Dean’s Award and the American Jurisprudence Book Award in Torts. As a member of the New England Law Review, Paul was a published author and served as Editor-in-Chief in 1986-1987. At Lafayette College Paul served as president of the Sigma Deuteron chapter of the Phi Gamma Delta fraternity, participated in indoor track and field, and lettered in football.
Paul is a member of Kensington Community Church and a parent leader in its “Edge” high school youth program. Paul formerly served on the board of Hurdling Handicaps Speaking Ministries, a local chapter of the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation, and on boards at Highland Park Baptist Church, including chairing its Missions Board. Paul currently serves on the Bloomfield Boosters Board, an organization supporting local school athletic programs. A long-time resident of Bloomfield Hills, Paul has enjoyed coaching youth soccer, baseball and flag football in that area.
